2013 Mazda CX-9

The new 2013 Mazda CX-9 is quickly approaching a production deadline and becoming a reality to North American drivers. The beautiful Kodo design language is front and center on the look and feel of the new crossover. The CX9's redesigned exterior and interior combined with a possible SkyActiv motor will make this the ultimate family ready Zoom Zoom vehicle. The exterior design sweeps from front to rear starting from the wide 5 point chrome grille that mimics the 2013 CX-5 and 2014 Mazda6. Along with new exterior styling and great looking angles comes new headlamps and taillights which resemble the beautiful wide angle design found on the 2014 Mazda6.

Inside there will be an updated central screen which incorporates radio and navigation options with touch and voice input.

The Mazda CX9 has always been known for its high attention to safety: New active-safety features has also been developed including an advanced high beam headlight system, lane departure warning system, and a "Forward Obstruction" warning system.

Mazda has yet to officially announce the engine options for the 2013 CX9 but there are hints at a Skyactiv-D 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel in the UK*. Weather this engine comes to the United States has yet to be announced. Mazda estimates that Skyactiv-D delivers 30 percent better fuel economy than a comparable gas engine**.

The interior and exterior refinements show that Mazda is able to incorporate its racing heritage and style into a 7 passenger vehicle seamlessly.
The 2013 Mazda Cx9 has made its debut in Australia and the vehicle will launch in the U.S. in the upcoming months.

Check back here and at your Groove Mazda store for updates on this great looking new Mazda.

*Mazda will announce final details on the North American engines later this year.
**EPA-estimated, based off of 2012 Mazda Skyactiv.
